Customer Story: Taking Time Off Is a Walk in the Park at Bracknell Town Council

Bracknell Town Council is the largest parish council in Bracknell Forest, responsible for over 250 acres of parks and green spaces and serving over 56,000 residents. To make Bracknell Town the best possible place to live, the council employs 27 councillors and 34 support staff. 

Yet, while the staff are a tight-knit community, only five of them work in the office, with most staff members working outside on maintaining the beautiful parks and green spaces of Bracknell Town.

Organising staff across all these different sites made tracking who had taken holiday, leave allocation, and holiday admin a huge burden for the team. Rachel Gordge, Office Manager of Bracknell Town Council, pointed out that there were mountains of admin, both from tracking holiday but also from employees calling in to check on their timesheets and available holiday days.

When Rachel found Leave Dates, she trialled the free plan for up to five users to see how effective it was. After discovering that the ground staff saw Leave Dates as a tool that made their lives easier, she began to roll it out for all of the Bracknell Town Council staff. Everyone was able to download the Leave Dates app onto their phones, making it as easy as possible. The simple and intuitive leave booking system made even the less technologically inclined employees feel at ease.
