During October, which happens to be Cyber Security Awareness Month, the Leave Dates team obtained Cyber Essentials Certification to ensure that every device used in our business meets the security standard.

What is a Cyber Essentials certification?
Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed certification program designed to protect organisations against cyber threats and attacks.
How does the certification work?
Cyber Essentials is a 'technical audit' of all internal IT systems within the business. Each member of our team and leadership answer a self-assessment questionnaire about employees, their devices, routers, firewalls, software, location and more. The answers to each questionnaire are then received by assessors for marking.
Does the certification expire?
Yes. The certification is valid for 12 months before we are due for reassessment and renewal.
Who is responsible for outlining the technical standard of Cyber Essentials?
Experts from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) collaborate with certification company IASME to outline the certification criteria and deliverables expected from applicants.
Is the certification just for small businesses in the UK?
No, the certifications are for businesses of all sizes and are available to companies outside the UK. It is also great for teams like ours who work worldwide.
