We've cracked the code on one of the most confusing organisational puzzles – "Who approves leave?"

The Great Approval Confusion

Ever feel like the organisational detective? Trying to figure out:

  • Who approves Sarah's leave?
  • Why did Bob's request go to Sarah for approval?
  • Is this an org chart or a spy movie plot? 🕵️‍♀️

Cue the dramatic investigation music! 🕶️

A Moment of Radical Honesty

Truth bomb incoming: We might be partially responsible for this chaos. 😅

Our flexibility is both a blessing and, sometimes, a brain-melter.

Want department-level approvers? Of course! Want specific employee-level exceptions? Sure thing!

Like when you want the department manager to approve ALL staff requests, except – plot twist – their own? We made that possible. Flexible? Absolutely. Simple? NOPE!

Yup. We know, we've got the support tickets to prove it. Shot ourselves in the foot there.

The logic stays the same. The more granular configuration takes priority, like a fallback mechanism.

  1. If an employee-level configuration exists, we'll use that.
  2. If not, we'll fall back to the department-level config.
  3. If that doesn't exist either, it's up to the admin to approve.

At both levels (department or employee), multiple approvers can be listed. When there are multiple approvers, all will receive notifications and approval is given once any of them approve.
